If the 3rd Gen iPod Touch will have the same metal back with camera and mic are added... then, I at least want that black plastic thing that covers the wi-fi antenna to be white instead of black. Yes, Apple white that is.

Don't you think Apple can make that one change if nothing else?

Or, do you prefer the current black plastic over white?

ALSO

If I can ask one more change, I want the volume rocker and the hold button to be metal or white plastic as well.

White would look out of place IMO. Right now the touch consists of two colours - black and silver. White, at least on something as small as the buttons and the Wi Fi cover, would clash too much. On the iPhone it looks somewhat decent because the white covers the entire back (but I still prefer the black overall). I just feel that having random things coloured white would clash too much with the other colours.

iPods have always had mirrored backs. And they always will.

I think they were referring to the black Wi Fi cover as opposed to the actual backplate itself ;)

I'd like to also elaborate a bit more on my previous post. Silver/chrome volume buttons would look terrible on the touch. The whole reason the buttons on the iPhone are chrome is because it's surrounded by black plastic, so that they can be easily be distinguished. Plus it matches in with the silver Apple on the back as well as the chrome bezel around the screen. Having them randomly white or the same colour as the backplate that surrounds them on the touch would ruin the symmetry that Apple tries to retain in their products.

If you are referring to the two iPod touch models, then yes.

The 2nd gen Nano and a model or two of the Classic version have had other than the metal back.

i wish the touch would get a plastic back. that would be awesome. or a brushed metal one. something that doesn't scratch from air exposure.

You worry about the color of plastic WiFi antenna? I like black because white is hard to keep clean.

Yup. Take a look at my Macbook after 2 years. I hate white.

I'm not sure that applies, since I've never heard even one report about the WiFi antenna plastic cracking. ;)

the back does not matter to me.

I think im the only one that would like to see a thicker ipod. the ipod touch has no grip to it.

I understand that thinner is more appealing to the eye, but to the hand it just feels crappy to me. I liked how the oldschool 4th and 5th traditional ipods feel. they feel nice and solid.

as you can guess im not a fan of the mackbook air either.

I'd sure like thicker. Especially if it means more features, like GPS.
