Won't the RIAA get the message that CD prices are the reason people don't buy CDs?

they haven't even gotten the message that it's 2004, not 1995.

"RIAA... Suing the pants of anyone using a technology newer than the Compact Disc!"

What about DVDs? At the nearest Wal•Mart, I can get 2 of them for 10 bucks. That's it.

Quick! We better go after people that redistribute movies illegally and prosecute them with six-digit fines too before the prices go up!

And that surprises me!!

The movie industry will easily suffer more, as high-quality movies currently at the $8+ theaters are available to watch on your 30" LCD. I mean, i admit to having skipped a few movies in the theater by watching pirate versions. In most cases, I doubt I woulda gone to the theater in the first place, but often times, I avoid my personal frustration with commercials (not previews) before every movie.
