Yes, but you need something like this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815106016).

What you mean? All monitors will be their own, no mirroring. It basically just divides the port to two ports so you can hook two monitors instead of one. There's model with 3 ports too, so if you want to hook up to 3 then get it. Also, what iMac do you have?

That won't work because it's VGA and not Mini Display Port. I haven't seen a Mini Display port version. They do make a Display Port edition but not Mini Display Port.

Ever heard of Mini Display Port to VGA/DVI/HDMI adapter?

To OP: Try to make a open deal if you buy it, just to make sure it works with your Mac.

There are no adapters available to connect a Mini Display Port Monitor to a DVI port. You can get a Male MDP to Female DVI which connects a DVI monitor to a Mini Display Port but not the other way round!

Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter

The Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter lets you connect an advanced digital monitor, such as the 20- or 23-inch Apple Cinema Display, to a Mac with a Mini DisplayPort.

I admit I screwed no. I thought OP wants to have two other than Apple 24" LED monitors (with DVI or VGA inputs, didn't read his post carefully). I must be more careful in future. My bad.

To OP: It's not possible to use two Apple monitors but you can buy two 24" Dells or something and they will work

well that sucks... even if i got the display adapters for each monitor, then got vga cables, then the matrox then plugged that into the imac just like i was going to?

Why it sucks? You need Mini Display port to DVI + 3 DVI cables (might be included with Matrox and displays), that's all

No, there's no way of getting two 24" Apple LED displays to iMac. Don't look at the brand, just get yourself two Dells or one Apple display and you'll be fine.
