Is AMC itself commonly carried on Canadian cable (the article mentioned that another option is watching it on US AMC)?

I was thinking to myself the other day, "Why bother with Blu-Ray?" I was streaming Apple Trailers @ 1080p to my television with no buffering, and realized that physical media was drawing its last gasps of breath.

Blu-ray requires a throughput of 54 Mbps... you need a 100 Mbit broadband connection in order to keep that stream going while leaving some bandwidth for surfing and such. Good luck with rolling out 100 Mbit fiber to the majority of households worldwide before the year 2020. And more good luck with equipping the service providers with the hardware muscle required to deliver millions of simultaneous 50 Mbit streams... heck, even YouTube buckles under the pressure sometimes and that blocky crap isn't exactly 1080p.
