I want to install Windows XP and will prob give it 25GB space. I don't have anything to back it up with, so what do I do? Can I proceed w/o backing up?

You can proceed, but you should always have a backup - just in case something goes wrong.

A zip drive? They still make and/or sell those damn things?

Wow, i just google imaged "zip drive". Dang old stuff.

I have a habit of using 'zip' interchangeably with 'flash' and 'thumb' for small usb dongle type drives.

Yes you can. But hurry to get a zip drive or external device.

Oh God, Zip drives. Brings back so many memories. It was the glorified floppy disk.

Zip drives were the stuff back in the day
I remember when I got mine and thought it was the greatest thing

OP, you should have a backup strategy regardless of your intent to install Windows, however I would never recommend doing anything with a partition or Boot Camp without one

Unless of course you have nothing on your drive that is important to you

This forum is littered with threads from people who have lost everything without a backup

Disk storage is always cheaper than data recovery
