Heres some facts and features that make the iPhone a very discreet, secretive, and privacy invading device ever. Good or bad thing?... Discuss
iPhone's camera shutter sound can be turned off by putting the phone is Silent Mode. Newer phones are required to make shutter sounds and every Blackberry makes this sound and cannot be turned off
The iPhone camera is very small and can be well hidden.
Voice Recording can be used very discreetly and the screen can be locked.
Sound Grenade app... enough said!
The keyboard clicking sound can also be turned off, making texting in a meeting or in class very discreet. Other phones make a loud clicking sound.
You can name your iPhone anything you like in iTunes.
Many apps can be used for cheating on tests or exams...
AshleyMadison app... again, enough said! (http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1907542,00.html)
iPhone privacy and mirror screen protectors, not available on other mobile phones.
iPhone browser history can easily be deleted with no trace available.
iPhone can be easily tracked or traced though MobileMe
iPhone 3gs can also discreetly record videos without making a sound.
Videos can easily be uploaded to YouTube, videos such as school fights, product leaks, or private videos.
"My Number" can now be changed in 3.0
iPhone compass can be used for more than a compass!

iPhone Massage app can be used discreetly for naughty purposes.

Why would I want to put my phone by any "naughty" place?

There are two ways this thread can end up in the wasteland... it can go quietly and discretely, or it can go out like a Sound Grenade app. ;)

Sorry for quoting the whole thing but I'm on my phone. Anyway, what else can the compass do? I have a 3G so I'm not aware.

I have no faith in the mods if this thread doesn't get waste landed or cause you to get put in time out.

I dont understand why this thread should end up in the Wastleland.. Its a simple thread discussing if the iPhone is too discreet and privacy invading.

It sounds like trolling really to be quite honest.

You can see what direction your facing while using your massage app in the wrong way.

Is the OP serious? Like, really serious?
Dear OP,
You have no idea what you are talking about.
Sincerely,
Uberamd
The iPhone is not the only phone that you can use to cheat on tests, take silent pictures, record stuff, etc. Look at the HTC Android devices. They fit the above bill also.
I will grab 1 example, Youtube video uploading. WTF? They can be uploaded to youtube, and this is a bad thing? School fights? Would you grow up, how is uploading via a device or waiting until you get home and uploading via your computer any different. Wasteland this, please. The OP is a real piece of work.

The compass could eventually be used for Stalking purposes. Such as Augmented Reality apps allowing you to track friends or family members.

I really don't see the problem with any of the things you mentioned.
Many apps can be used for cheating on tests or exams...
So can internet on other phones.
"iPhone Massage app can be used discreetly for naughty purposes."
Naughty like your signiture. "Its too big, its too wide, its too strong, its wont fit, its too much, its too tough."

Good, those noises are very annoying.
The iPhone camera is very small and can be well hidden.
As it is on many other phones.
Voice Recording can be used very discreetly and the screen can be locked.
Again, as it can on any other phone
Sound Grenade app... enough said!
In what way is that discreet?
The keyboard clicking sound can also be turned off, making texting in a meeting or in class very discreet. Other phones make a loud clicking sound.
As you can on every other touchscreen phone ever...
You can name your iPhone anything you like in iTunes.
What's that got to do with anything?
Many apps can be used for cheating on tests or exams...
So can the calculator apps on every phone...
Can't be bothered with the rest, it's all obvious anyway...

Just to clarify, serious threads discussing the privacy concerns cell phones merit are always welcome as a legitimate topic of discussion. This thread showed no intention of creating real discourse, and so it's done.
