Has the Mac version been canned? I've been following it since it's been announced in January - release date slipped from March > June > August, and now Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rome-Total-War-Gold-Mac/dp/B001U89RCI) says it's out of stock. Do you think Feral have just given up, or is Amazon being out of stock a good sign perhaps? I have been so excited, but at the same time I'm expecting the worst! :(

I recall reading on another forum recently that the project was taking a lot longer than anticipated but was still on track. I wouldn't put much stock in what Amazon says -- unless the publisher gives a release date, Amazon tends to just guess for the sake of preorders and then either pushes the date back or says "out of stock" when the date comes and goes.

Yeah, I wasn't sure whether Amazon would be reliable. You don't happen to have the link for the forum?

The Feral web page still has the game up for pre-order, so it doesn't appear the company has canned it.

This game is really old, right? Sigh, why can't they port over new games.

Depends on your definition of really old. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/index.html?curid=653522) says it came out in 2004. It's a pretty good game if you like RTS. I myself prefer Medieval:Total War which came out in 2002. :)
Do you have Bootcamp capable hardware? If so, WinXP would be an option.

It's part of their Feral Legends series. Therefore the whole point is that it's old. Old != bad. They do port new games as part of their regular lineup.

Not to mention it will only cost $30 not $40 or $50.
