when i try to boot my windows xp it shows up as locked in my vmware fusion library

i click to unlock and i get this:

"This virtual machine appears to be in use.

If this virtual machine is already in use, press the "Cancel" button to avoid damaging it. If this virtual machine is not in use, press the "Take Ownership" button to obtain ownership of it.

Configuration file: /Users/mpiekutowski/Documents/Virtual Machines.localized/Windows XP Home Edition.vmwarevm/Windows XP Home Edition.vmx

take Ownership/ Cancel"

So I click to take ownership and I get this:

"Taking ownership of this virtual machine failed.

The virtual machine is in use by an application on your host computer.

Configuration file: /Users/mpiekutowski/Documents/Virtual Machines.localized/Windows XP Home Edition.vmwarevm/Windows XP Home Edition.vmx"

could someone please help me with this?

Here is where you will get prompt, accurate responses for fusion. The user 'etung' is great at answering questions. I suspect he works for VMWARE:
