CoD4 is great online.
So far no news on COD MW2 for mac yet. If it takes half as long as it took to release CoD4 to Mac, then it won´t be released probably until fall/winter 2010.

Yeah it'll take a while for Aspyr to crapify the game as they usually do in the "porting" process.

It's amazing it takes them so long to do that huh...
Sometimes I think they could just code their own version faster than porting.:p

The COD 4 servers are quite full online. There are plenty of available games of all modes there. I'm playing the Mac specific version rather than the Windows version through Boot Camp.

Good thing is that I think that PC and Mac players play together. I think.

While I pounded on them for NWN2, I was actually quite pleased with my CoD4 performance, and last I checked there is quite an active community.

Still ... I *had* already played the PC version, which will be the same for MW2.

Yeah, it puts all computer players together regardless of the OS.

i have to say i love playing on the search and destroy tactical servers. the only problem is if you break a rule the admin boots you for a few minutes. you should try it. takes sometime to get use to the rules though. and changes the way you play.

Aspyr makes me angry. Now that they have Intel processors, they don't have that "Oh PPC is a different architecture, not suited for games etc." blah blah blah. They need to step up. All Mac developers/porters do. No excuses anymore. They need to take their time, and make a terrific port for once.

Yes I play online also. I'm so bad I hide for myself  I'm still learning and trying to understand the game.

i have played COD4 on Xbox 360 since it came out but i recently moved to USA so i couldnt play it anymore. When i got my MBP 2 months ago i got COD4 at the same time since i missed it so much. There are plenty of people online but not compared to the amount of players on 360. on 360 there are about 70,000 people at once most nights. there are not many servers that play hardcore compared to 360  On th e porting side of the conversation. The cod4 port is not great but Quake Wars is worse.

Good thing is that I think that PC and Mac players play together. I think. Yea I play the Mac specific too. When you start off with the Mac specific, you only play with other Mac users (I think), however there is an update you can get, which is pretty much just a Map Pack, except now you play against Pc'ers too. I have that Pack. It's a shame though, I made a lot of friends in the Mac specific and now they're GONE!!!!

Oh well, the maps are great, There's Broadcast (The T.V station from the first USMC mission), there's Chinatown (A Chinese Marketplace), there's Killhouse (I really like this one, it's an SAS training warehouse), and then there's Creek (A Creek).

Well I understated Creek a little bit, Creek is a lot of fun, it has all these awesome cliff paths and a few underground trenches and things to hide. There's even a broken Gazebo!

The 1.7 update is a patch. Not only does it add the four maps from the Variety Map Pack, but there are numerous bug fixes. There's also another map included with the patch called "Winter Crash," which is exactly the same as normal Crash except with a Christmas theme. In addition, and correct me if I'm wrong (I don't know if 1.0 can do this), the 1.7 patch stops the need to have the COD4 disc in the tray when launching Multiplayer. However, Single Player still requires the disc.
