Ok so my dad bought ARD 2 for use at his office. I am trying to figure out how to connect to Windows PCs on the network using ARD 2. I have Windows XP Pro installed on a PC on the network here. I installed VNC 4.0 (server) onto the machine, and now in the ARD 2 admin program, the PC shows up with a little VNC next to it.

I can't connect to it though. I don't get an error, but it just pretty much times out. Any ideas on what I should do to get this working?

All I can think of would be a firewall on the Windows PC blocking the connection.

Try adding by IP address, and when you're connecting don't use a user name, just a password. I've found that ARD 2 is very slow with VNC (over Airport) though, you might be better off with VNCViewer.

ARD2's VNC client i think doesn't support compression or something, because it is sooo much slower than VNCThing... You can download it from http://www.macupdate.com because i think the website is gone.
