Periodic 2/3 second freezes

As titles say - just installed XP, updated all the drivers. It was working fine for two days, installed 2 games on the first day, and since today the computer freezes for about 2/3 seconds can't move mouse, nothing), and then pops back in. Happens sort of every 2 minutes or so. I've tried reverting the drivers, as well as uninstalling the games.

Any ideas?? Never seen this before.

EDIT - Just tried playing a game - the freezes cause the sound to freeze as well. Anything from between 2-5 seconds. Makes windows unusable :(

What environment are you using (e.g., Fusion, Parallels, or Boot Camp)?

I have a similar issue using Fusion; I haven't figured out what's going on yet, since there isn't any delay on the Mac side, and CPU usage doesn't spike. Windows just seems to be... frozen. Then it comes back...
