Hi,
I tried searching this topic as I'm sure it must have been discussed although I couldn't find anything.
Anyway, I am looking for an external hard drive, either eSata or FW800.
It must be at least 500GB, preferably 1TB, and as silent as possible. I plan to use it with my MBP for recording.
Any recommendations?
Thanks
Joko

Check out Glyph (http://www.glyphtech.com/) drives. They are quiet, quick, and come with a great warranty and data recovery plan.

+1 for Glyph.
A colleague uses G-Tech for past 2 years and swears by them.

I've had a 7200rpm Mercury on the Go for quite a while now, never done me wrong, one of my fave pieces of gear.

Found the Glyph dealer in Hamburg where I live now, and those drives are pricey! Although I believe they are the best..should be at that price.
€200 for 500GB
€300 for 1000GB

Ok sorry 1 more to question to anyone who can answer. About to buy a hard drive from Glyph:
the 500GB & 750GB have 16MB cache
1TB and up have 32MB cache
Does cache size make a big difference here?
Thanks
