I'm trying to figure out why I can't get my menu bar to be translucent on my MacBook. It works just fine on the PowerBook G4. Look at these:

PowerBook G4 set to translucent:

MacBook set to translucent:

MacBook not set to translucent:

There is a slight difference in the last two, but it's definitely not the same as the PowerBook. When set to translucent on the MacBook, the apple in the corner is always filled with some random colors. The MacBook displayed the translucent menu bar fine when Leopard was originally released. Both computers are running the latest version of Leopard. Any ideas why these are different? Maybe snow leopard will fix it? Thanks for the help.

I would suggest that snow leopard will fix it. mine is working completely ordinarily. I would have thought reinstalling leopard would solve it as well so you could try that (if your really bothered by it). you might just need to restart the computer if it has only just happened.

good luck fixing it:)

It's not that big of a deal, so I'm not gonna reinstall Leopard. It has been like this since about the first update of Leopard, when they made the translucent menu bar optional, because a lot of people didn't like it. But for me, making it optional got rid of it completely. Thanks for the reply.
