I recently tried to purchase the tomtom application from iTunes with my debit card. iTunes then told me my debit card had be declined and would not let me purchase the app. Immediately after that I got a call from Bank of America telling me they had cut off my card due to suspicious activity from an iTunes purchase. I then tried the same thing on my mother's card because I need the app for a trip tomorrow and they put a stop on her card at well. I am going on a big vacation tomorrow and don't know what to do. Has this happened to anyone else on here? Any ideas on what to do?

How about discussing this with BoA to see what unauthorized activity they are seeing? They are the ones who can fix this.

If you got the call then you should have just authorized it. I've yet to try and buy something for more than $20 on iTunes and I'm a BOFA victim customer.

Perhaps it's because you're buying TomTom and they acknowledge it costs too much. Try it with Navigon or iGo MyWay. the charge will probably go through :D

all the banks use anti-fraud software to monitor accounts. i've had this happen and all you have to do is call, verify your information and say it's OK and they will let the transaction go thru.

one time i had a major CC denied for this reason when calling Microsoft corporate support

ive gotton a call from them also. i bought 10 apps and they froze my card because of all the small charges. are you sure its not from that rather then just the 1 app. usually they just verify some info and unblock it

Indeed, unless you're planning on starting your own card service, the only people you should be talking to is BOA, period. No one here can do anything.

Chase put a Hold on my Debit card for suspicious activity (fraud alert), all from multiple music & app purchases from Itunes for my iPhone.

I just called the Bank's Customer Service # to release the Hold on the Debit card and acknowledge the purchases as being Valid.

Less than a minute later I was able to make purchases on iTune once again.
