It is absurd, seeing steve's calculator blasphemed in such a manor... check out those colours

I highly doubt this is true. But still, I was sure that the Panther-Screenshots were fake one year ago, too.

I'm pretty sure these are fake - plus, the sacreenshots don't really show anything impressive anyway in my opinion.
So far, there's nothing that I've heard about Tioger that really makes me want to upgrade. I guess we'll have a better idea come Monday... Which reminds me, is the Apple site broadcasting the keynote? Where can I watch it?

What do you mean, it reminds you Konfabulator? The objects are clearly called "Gadgets". What could possibly be more different!

I *COMPLETELY* agree. There's nothing I've heard about G8's that are expected to come out 7 years from now that would make me want to upgrade from my G3, as well. They all process operands!
(I'm trying to point out that you haven't heard anything about Tiger yet.)

I also think that it's a fake. Until it officially comes from Apple, it's only speculation.

I think to fully distinguish "Gadgets" form "Konfabulator" Apple should actually name this feature "Kongadgulator" - then there will be no comparisons or mistaken identities between the two...

If its real, I'm going to be very dissapointed in Apple. I think I'll stick with Panther.

That last one with the gadgets does look pretty photoshopy, but my hunch is that they are real. Apple has changed its look and feel in the past, so it's possible that "plastic" will join "metal" and "pinstripe" as a new Apple theme.

it looks pathetic. MAYBE the system preferences highlighting thing might be SOMEWHAT useful. but not enough to warrant an upgrade. and it looks like everything was dimmed in photoshop, circular selections were feathered about 10 pixels, and those weren't dimmed. pretty sad. and the drop down menu doesnt look real at all, compared to other drop downs like in safari.
the readme, however, appears to be real. but, of course, it doesnt talk about anything new. the only real difference i could see is that it requires built-in firewire, when panther required only built-in USB, correct?

Has anyone had any trouble getting into the MacRumors main page? I was thinking that maybe the site was brought down because of the pictures...
This is what it says when I try to access macrumors.com:

This junk is fake. Look at the originating website. (http://www.gnaa.us/pr.phtml?troll=gnaa-tiger) I'm so disturbed just from that website. I don't see how they have anything to do with Macs or decency. They are also openly insulting Mac users. It's just absurd.

Which ones? The ones showing the new "piles" feature that was supposedly in Panther? Those WERE fake. :P

Macrumors got the old wool-pulled-over-the-eyes-trick today. GNAA scores one for their team today (albiet, very lame to spend so much time mocking all those images up for a giggle).

Guys, just calm down and think about it. maybe not every bit is the way it will also ship in right now. But there are thwo things that would make very much sense regarding the road that OS X has taken from 10.0 to 10.3:
1.
In 10.0 pretty much everything was static. It was not very different from OS 9 appart from the Dock and the Window-Minimize-Effect (I speak only about visuall appearance of course). So there were also the flashing OK Buttons and the new sheets for open and save but as I said everything else was static.
OS X has moved quite a lot from there. Exposé, New Minimize effects, auto sizing windows, new sheet animation more transparency in some areas.
Now when you look at the sticky that says "Tiger baby!" notice how it has gone from 2D with drop shadow to 3D. It has curly edges and a gradient that shows the fall of light on it. Seems pretty good...
2.
Old concepts have been looked over again over the (few) years that OS X is in existence. The good ones are (one by one) being "copied" from the original and implemented in all other apps that could make use of that functionality
Steve said himself that they took the iTunes Playlist concept for the new Finder in 10.3... Now System Preferences in 10.4 has got Finder/Safari Navigation...
Also the way in which Icons are being highlighted when they are search results (or the way the others are being dimmed out, wichever you like).
Think about it... Though I have to admitt that the Widget controll window isn't very self explaining/not that much Apple like...

It happens from time to time, along with a "server too busy" message. Just try again in a minute or so and usually you can get in. There's nothing to really "get" so no need to be confused! ;)

Am I the only one who thinks macrumors must be incredibly desperate for material to even look at this?
I mean, I know you cant get a more reliable source than the "Gay ******s Association of America", but its pretty damn obvious this was for a laugh, and I think its hilarious that macrumors accepted it.
*edit: In addition, the fact that macrumors censors racist words but not homophobic ones would be funny if it wasnt such a sad reflection of American society.

I think these are fake, and I sure hope they are. The source organisation, wierdness of dashboard apps and lack of apple legal intervention make me feel they're fake
One thing that did catch my eye was the calander picture by the 90 day same as cash deal on the Apple store, if there was going to be a dashboard iCal widget, I'm sure it would look more like that.

These supposed screenshots look pretty horrendous and whoever has the nerve to pass them off as branded by Apple, is insulting Apple and the Mac community alike.
I don't think it was a very good idea to have accepted this, even for page 2. I know MacRumors doesn't get the "good" rumors that AppleInsider gets, but this is no excuse for accepting such horrible submissions especially considering the party that submitted the supposed screenshots.

:D Yeah; no problems Shard. I just feel like newbies get slammed a lot around here; nailed on everything. I suppose it could be an "initiation" of sorts, and of course I dig the humor. :D
I should feel lucky no one has really flamed my newbie-ass yet. (...waiting for you to come back and crush me ;)...)
By the way, if you weren't lying in your MacRumors profile, I'm exactly 2 days older than you! Groove on, Capricorn!

Yah, I like having fun slamming the newbies - it's just so damn easy sometimes! Don't worry though, I won't be too hard on ya - unless you say something stupid, then I'll be all over it. Or, you know, if you do something silly like give your self such a long name that it won't even fit on the screen... ;)
Anyway, welcome to MacRumors, fellow Capricorn....

I didn't see these pics but were they similiar to http://www.apple.com/macosx/tiger/dashboard.html ? If they were I don't know why it matters so much, even if you dont like those colors I bet they can be changed in a options panel. Those pics also look like beta designs and may be updated come the French conference.
Only thing I do not like is the way they make the iTunes player look. I could make a better looking iTunes player in 5 minutes on Photoshop. I think it would be much color to have a iPod looking iTunes player.
