OK, so I'm a noob to jailbreaking. I just jailbroke my iPhone 3GS 3.0.1 today. I have both Cydia and Icy installed on the phone and have changed a few simple things, like my SMS theme, etc. But my first question is:

How do you put icons for text messages, etc in the status bar?

Download "Status Notifier"

Download notifier instead, with the new update today its much better (has support for calendar notifications that actually work)

You will get both icons unless you pick one...

i turned off notifier icon, but kept reminder...and then using the default irealsms icon for messages.

well im brand new to irealsms, i only use it for the quickreply (volume up+touch) and i love the feature but i HATE the interface of irealsms and i dont like how i dont get the stock txt app popup anymore. the irealsms popup always seems to cut off some text of the last line..its just annoying. i also dont like the irealsms mms support, ive got mms working on my iphone and the default app still popups a picture preview when i get a mms so :) on that. maybe i will have to check this app out.

well im brand new to irealsms, i only use it for the quickreply (volume up+touch) and i love the feature but i HATE the interface of irealsms and i dont like how i dont get the stock txt app popup anymore. the irealsms popup always seems to cut off some text of the last line..its just annoying. i also dont like the irealsms mms support, ive got mms working on my iphone and the default app still popups a picture preview when i get a mms so :) on that. maybe i will have to check this app out.

you know you can slide that window to read the rest of it right? :)

try biteSMS instead
