free iPod touch back to school campaign - refurb/new?

Has anyone purchased a Mac for this campaign? Just curious if the iPod touch you receive is refurbished or new. Thanks.

Quite right, I figured that it was a kill two birds with one stone move (get rid of old stock while offering the consumer which can only boost sales).

Sadly this offer is not available here in Japan :mad: so I may have to get my family back home to send it over here if buy it from the North American Apple store...ugh.
