Want to install XFX Radeon HD 4850 on Mac Pro 2008 [Archive]

This may be impossible, but it seems like I've read a bunch of threads for similar issues.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible to install with my Mac? I can physically install the card, but I clearly need to get the computer to recognize it. I'm not too tech savy, but I follow instructions really well if someone knows how to do it.

Why you want the 4850 and not the 4890?? :confused:

Good question. I bought the 4850. I ended up taking it back though, too complicated. I found a vendor on ebay selling 4870s for Mac with 1 gig instead of the standard issue 512 Apple sells. Looking forward to getting that.
