Can someone help a newbie with where i can get good RAM in Canada (is all RAM the same, or should i look for a specific kind), and how to install it (any websites showing easy-to-follow instructions on how to install it in an iBook -- i've never opened a computer and played around with stuff before so i'm a little hesitant, although i heard its fairly easy...)
thanks! :)

The Apple site has a section called "customer installable parts" and you should be able to pick your iBook from the drop-down list and find all possible customer installable items...

Go to www.crucial.com and see if they have a Canada store (I think they do). To install it is very easy. Go here:

I aim to do the same thing for a 12" iBook in the UK. Would the 2100 type be the one to use?

PC2100 or higher will work in the iBook G4 (or PC133 for the G3).

don't by cheapo ram though. i bought some inexpensive ddr ram for my ibook and it'd boot up and stay on for a couple minutes and then crash.
