I have pre-ordered Snow leopard and I am planning on doing a clean install of the OS, since my macbook is coming up on 3 years old and has never really had a good cleaning.

I have backed up all the files I want to put back on the drive after it is wiped and 10.6 is installed. I backed up My iTunes folder, iPhoto Library, my user/library, my documents folder and a a host of random applications that I think i will want.

My question is this. I am worried about the iLife apps. They came pre-installed on my macbook when i bought it, I do not have or know where my install DVD is so I can't get them that way.

Can I simply drag and copy that apps onto my external and have them restore that way?

Would I maybe be able to restore them through time machine once in snow leopard?

thanks in advance.

You could try, but just restoring them through TM seems too simple. Find some install discs for your machine somewhere- even if you call and ask for replacements I don't think they cost too much.
