iPod ipod30gb no sound no sound anywhere

My ipod 30gb show that is is playing but no sound comes out no matter what I plug it into ( computer, ipod dock, ear buds) I have reset it but that didn't work I restored it three time and updated it but that didn't work is there something I am missing or is this ipod done for?
