View Full Version : ~Strange dot (camera?) on my 1st Gen iPod??~

Maybe every iPod touch has this, or its a common thing that I've never heard about but..... my iPod touch has a weird circle/dot on the upper left part of my first generation ipod touch. I bought it in December 2007 (pretty old), and have noticed it for a while... it seems to be a little lighter (like light brown, almost red) then the surrounding black, and appears to be under the glass covering.

the pink case has a circle opening right where the dot is:

so, anyone else have this dot, or know what it is?

That would be a hole for the itouch's light/brightness sensor. Sorry no camera :o

ya i was positive it wasnt a working camera, but hoping it could have been some kind of prototype with an idea for a camera :cool:

Haha, a public release of a prototype. It would be interesting, but Steve Jobs (especially) would never allow that!

It has happened ... there have been confirmed MBA and MBP prototypes posted on here.

Its a secret camera that records all the time and then sends the info back to apple so they can spy on you.

The maturity and respect people have in this forum.

When i first read this, i was thinking, Man these guys are going eat him up for this question, but no one did! Just gave him the correct answer and made no whatsoever comments.

more likely to happen on the IPTF forum than on here...... I don't post as much over there anymore cause of how touchy people can be :rolleyes:
