I bought a 285GTX to replace my 4870. I know I'm suppose to install drivers before installing the new graphics (or so that's what I've been told).

If I do a clean install for Snow Leopard, wouldn't that require me to reinstall the 4870 in order to install the OS? Or will Apple provide the drivers?

Anyone care to provide insight into this? It's important since I either have to keep my 4870 for backup or I can sell it / give it away. Also it's the difference between installing the 285GTX immediately or later on.

Where did I read that Snow Leopard will have the GTX 285 drivers built-in...?

I remember that, at any rate. It could be wrong.

Maybe email  support? Nobody's really asked this question yet. Not about a clean install...

I'm using the GTX-285 without any installed drivers on 10A432 right now.

Yes - confirmed. We will not need to install an old VGA Card to install Snow Leopard.
Drivers für the GTX 285 are already built in. So no need for panic hrhr :D
