Ok I'm new to macs and I have been a hardcore windows XP user since day one.. I have been using leopard for 3 month now and it's great..

BUT recently there has been this weird porn bot writing messages to me on Adium.. The email is NOT on my buddylist so I have no idea where it's coming from.

This happens once or twice a day wether I'm surfing the web or the computer is just left on the table.

Could this be some kind of spyware running on my machine? I've honestly never seen this happen on a windows machine so I'm a little confused where to start... Could anyone help me clear this up?

I think it's not a virus or smth. You (or someone else) have given your e-mail to wrong place and bot is now contacting you. Block him/her

No, more likely a spambot got ahold of your MSN handle. Try blocking the address it is coming from. The fact that you never saw it on Windows was likely just a coincidence. This has really nothing to do with your machine at all.

I have the latest version of adium installed.

How do i block it? I mean I don't even have the email on my contactlist, I haven't accepted any invitation from that Email.

I logged into my hotmail account and the email wasn't on my contact list there either.
I still don't understand how this bot can WRITE to me when I never accepted it in the first place? This email is fairly new I just created it last week.

He can message you without acceptation. Just right click that message window and choose "Block..."
