Does safari store it's history like windows, like temp internet files, cookies, and the history? How would i go about clearing all this if i want to free some disk space up? I just want to clear it so the machine doesn't remember anything, so it thinks it is going onto safari the first time again.

Reset Safari in the File or Safari menu should do the trick.

Thats it? I was expecting more to do then that. I'm just so used to the windows world where everyway is the long way. Does re-setting it mean i am going to lose any things i downloaded and installed previously? Like in downloaded and installed AIM, Limewire, and a few screensavers. Will those still be there?

no. those are already downloaded apps - they have nothing to do with safari. safari will not keep track of what you downloaded and uninstall them.

resetting safari will erase all the bookmarks, caches, histories and cookies, among other things.

Resetting Safari does just that. It resets Safari. If you have installed things these will not be effected as they are not part of Safari.

No, Reset Safari doesn't mean you'll lose your installed apps. It means it will delete all traces of the sites you've visited, their cookies, and preferences. So you will have to re-type passwords to sites, but other than that it's pretty painless. When you click Reset, it will tell you what will happen.

one thing that "reset safari" doesn't do - bookmark icon cache. that gets bloated quite fast. you can get rid of it by throwing a /Users/youraccount/Library/Safari/Icons folder to thrash... and in fact, you can make a manual reset by throwing the whole safari folder away. that however destroys bookmarks also. look what's inside and delete what you like.

I don't want to delete my bookmarks. Just my history. Anything that has to do with the history. Not the bookmarks. If i want to dlete bookmarks i'll do it manually. Well thanks for help guys!
