OS X update stuck

Was it a point upgrade? or a leopard to SL upgrade your talking about.

Generally speaking if your point upgrade as hung, normally a reboot should resolve it. If your talking about SL apple have put in safety features to continue if it fails half way through.
 
Just reboot the computer. Hold down the power button for five seconds, and then start it back up. The worst that could happen is that you'd have to do an Archive & Install (using the discs that came with your computer, or a Mac OS X disc). But I don't think that's likely.
 
10.5.0 to 10.5.8 is the hung update. SL will not even run on my PowerBook as it is a G4.

It appears my password is not working though. SSH, sudo will not take it at all.
