I'm thinking about buying a macbook off of ebay, it comes with everything except the recovery disks, will I need them if i'm going to use the up-to-date snow leopard program?😕

sorry i don't know if its called up-to-date or not i'm just talking about buying the $30 upgrade from amazon or macmall, will that not work?

Right now, people are reporting that it will work without Leopard on the drive at all. You should be good, but you might want to wait until Friday when more people know for sure.

One thing that the recovery discs will have that the Snow Leopard disc will not is the iLife suite. If you ever need to install/reinstall it you won't be able to without the recovery discs.

eBay rules require the software disks to be included. eBay doesn't really give a rat's arse though.

Lack of recovery disks can indicate a stolen computer.
You can get copies of the recovery disks from Apple for moderate fee.
