Trouble streaming apple TV

Previously I've never had any issues with streaming although its been a while since I used :apple:tv, in fact the last time was before i had a new HD installed in my iMac, not sure if this is connected to my problem.
I've managed ( i think) to set up streaming as i've punched in the 5 digit code provided by :apple:TV and then a message appears telling me to select shared content from the menu on :apple:TV and my itunes library name appears, but 1) shared content option not displayed and 2), I can't select my itunes library name fully as it's grayed out.
What can I do please. :(

It sounds like your ATV is already connected to your network and main computer. Does your iTunes show the ATV as a device under "Devices" in iTunes? You should only have to input the 4 digit code into iTunes once. If you are already connected that would be why it is greyed out. Do you have full bars for network signal strength? Lack of Wi Fi signal can be the reason it does not stream.
