Laptop battery

So brother replaced his aging Macbook with a brand new Macbook Pro today. And lucky for me, he offered to give me his old MacBook. Its faster then my desktop current...so I'm figuring to make it my main Mac(for a little). But the battery is dead, gone, holds no charge. So i was looking at batteries in the store today...116(after student discount) is do able, but I was wondering if any Macbook/MBP owners knew of a 3rd party who was better/cheaper.

ever bought from ebay.com? if you're willing to try it, they have batteries for $50 from asia. i've never tried it though. i will probably buy from them when my battery dies.
