Mac Mini to TV --- how?!?! [Archive]

So I just got a brand new mac mini. I need to output it to the tv but doesn't seem to be working. I plugged in the mini-dvi adapter to a DVI-D adapter to VGA. And it doesn't seem to work. Anyone with the same issue? Is my adapter bad? Thanks in advance.

If it is DVI-D then it is a digital only DVI. Hence the "-D". There is no analog signal going down that connection.

If it was DVI-I (I for integrated analog and digital)then it would have the VGA signal as well.
