I use Illustrator/Photoshop/Dreamweaver heavily every day but it's a hassle for me to order the upgrade online (delivery would annoy me as I am moving this weekend plus I am at work every day) and Micro Anvika will not have this upgraded version in store for another week or so (and at £1850).

I am very tempted to go to John Lewis today and get the stock 1.5 Ghz SD at £1749 with the benefit of free 2 year guarantee..

I am paying on a credit card so money maybe not so much of a problem to do with the extra £100 though it will still hurt I guess.

I kind of feel it will be such a leap from my current G3 400mhz pismo I shouldn't loose sleep over the slightly faster hard drive and improved graphics...

I don't suppose anyone has experienced both 15" versions?

Wonder if I am just being idle by not wanting an apple store bto delivered - just I can imagine it arriving when I am not there - arranging redelivery - then there's a problem with machine etc. At least if I buy from John Lewis I can take it back myself etc etc

THanks for listening to all that

x

If your using Illustrator and Photoshop your going to
DEFINITELY need more than 128MB of RAM!!!!!

No less than 512MB

Good luck!

I think he meant 128 MB of Video Ram. I would definately get the HD upgrade to 5400 RPM. Especially considering you use disk intesive apps.

..except i don't think i can! - plus the 2 year guarantee is very appealing...

the stock pb ships with an ADA Ultra HD at 4200rpm.. I just looked under the hood of my pismo and the HD is also 4200rpm albeit without the Ultra - am i going to see enough of an improvement in the new Ultra to make me feel ok about buying the stock model?
