Not sure if this is exactly the right forum, but it isn't far off...

I've got a set of Soundsticks hooked up and I find them to be fine. However, I know I'm going to upgrade soon, but I notice that most speakers, including the new soundsticks connect via the audio-out jack, not USB.

My question: Is one better than the other for sound reproduction? I'll keep what I've got rather than sacrifice fidelity.

Personally i think that when connecting to a audio jack out you will get better sound also using usb uses processor power that can be used somewhere else, at least on the pc. With the mac i prefer audio out jack over usb i guess im just wierd like that. :D

I have no choice but to use USB audio for my Cube. It's such a ********** pain in the ass! The sound cuts out after I've pressed the mute button on my keyboard so many times, and it happens at random (but luckily somewhat rare) instances. So to get the audio back, I either need to restart my computer, or risk it shutting itself down because I have to get underneath the damn thing to reach for the USB cable, unplug it from the Cube, and then replug it back in. Then again, the Cube's ports are in a seriously bad area anyways.
