Sherlock goes BOOM!

Sherlock exploded. I lost all channels. Came from me trying to fix a non-loading sherlock by deleting some preferences, now Sherlock has no channels. In my account and in non-one else's.

Copy the prefs from another account (or create one and use the defaults).

That should get you to where you were, unless you used a lot of non-default channels.

I've had Sherlock do this to me a few times, and this recovery method has worked.

Also, if you have .Mac Backup (or any other backup of your prefs), you might have a copy of the prefs eleswhere. That's preferable, since it would have your data in it as well as your channels.

No dice.

I even got some help via IRC and iChat with someone sending me the files too. My Sherlock was like 1.4MB and he sent me on 6.6MB, however, that didn't even help me.

You want to know what's really bad? A clean install didn't fix it.
