Can I still install apple apps on my unlocked iPhone 3GS?

Hi guys, I've just gotten a new unlocked iPhone 3GS. I've never used an iPhone before. I would like to know if I can still install iphone apps that I've downloaded from the iTunes store on my jailbroken iPhone. Or is it now only restricted to those apps on Cydia?
Any help will be appreciated.
