Battery Calibration

My Unibody started showing only 2.4 Hrs left on a full charge, so I recalibrated my macbook, (full charge , full de charge) so now it says i should let the mac rest for 5 hours... but couldn't I use it when I unplug the battery? i mean the battery needs to rest 5 hours but the macbook doesenj't right? 🙄
