iPod touch When was the current 2G iPod Touch released last year?

So, it's now official -- Sept. 9th.

Assuming (although I am 100% sure) that the new 3G iPod Touch is announced during the event, how soon will it be on sale?

1. Sept. 9th
2. Sept. 10th
3. 1 week after the announcement

What was it last year?
 
But Actually I'm not completely sure. I'm like 99% sure you could buy the 2g touch right after it was announced at the APPLE STORE, but I'm not sure if it was available anywhere else.... Guess they will be if we see leaked images from Walmart or something next week
 
I'm pretty sure they were available the day after the keynote last year... I bought mine on Sept. 10th, but I'm not sure when the keynote was.
 
I bought my September 11th, I think the Keynote was 8th if I'm not mistaking. I know the Apple store near my house didn't get them until the 10th.
 
im curious too! I want one as soon as possible as i have been patiently waiting for half a year for this.

do you guys know if it gets crowded at the apple stores?
 
I remember last year the online Apple Store was down during the keynote, and when it was up again, you could buy the new ipod Touch.

And I'm from a small European country, so no one should have a problem getting one.
 
i think the USA gets them first, then europe, asia, etc... ends up having them weeks, or months later....😉
