Hi,

I just installed 10.6 (clean install) and connected my HP Deskjet F2235. This printer was supported in 10.5 (it automatically downloaded the drivers). In 10.6 it's asking whether it can download drivers, then when I give permission it thinks for a few seconds then returns "The software is currently unavailable".

Is this possibly a server issue? I've installed all of the available drivers from the 10.6 DVD but it still tells me that it needs to download the driver. Any suggestions?

Thanks 🙂

I've been in contact with HP email support. It's an exercise in futility; they're more interested in giving lies and conflicting information than trying to solve the problem 😡

I can't get my printer drivers off of Software Update either. I think it's server thing on their end.

This page, on the other hand, says that it works. And this is the page I saw and checked before buying 10.6.

Aye, but it mentions my printer as well. And I know there isn't Drivers for it. Swear HP emailed me about it. Pity the email was too late. 🙄

Eidorian, Which printer you got?

New HP drivers have been released alongside 10.6.1. Everyone, try your printers again... I will once I get home 🙂

Edit: My F2235 now works! 😀
