Why is it that Mac gaming is so poor? Most games that run perfectly well on a PC of lower specs don't work on a Mac anywhere near as well. An example of that is Deus Ex for Mac. It ran very crappily on my iMac. There is also a lack of mac games and most of them are overpriced. Why don't games run as well on a mac as on a PeeCee?
Thanks

P.S. What games would you recommend for an iBook

Because most PC gamemakers optimize their games for DirectX which is the rendering system that Windows uses. When those games are ported to mac, little optimization is done for OpenGL. There is also the fact that OpenGL is just slower than DirectX, it's an older technology.

I would recommend Warcraft 3, Diablo II, Quake 3 (make sure to snatch up the True Combat mod), Call of Duty, MOH, and the like. If you want to game on your iBook you should go for the 1.2GHz iBook or skip that and go for the low end powerbook with 64MB vram.
