how to Jailbreak iphone 3GS firmware 3.0.1?

Hi

I am a new user for iphone and I have taken the new iphone 3GS 32 GB one with the software version of 3.0.1. I am trying to jailbreak it by using
purplera1n. But it got hang when the purplera1n guy holding the iphone, just after the message flash of 'Done Wait for Reboot'.

Would anybody please help me if you have any idea about how to jailbreak new version of iphone?

You need to use redsnow

You need redsnow .8 and when it asks for the ipsw...select the 3.0 not the 3.0.1 ipsw
