Do you have a DV camera? Most will have the appropriate inputs. There are other ways to do it but in any event you'll need some kind of a device to capture the video. Look here (http://www.macmall.com/macmall/search/search.asp?search=video+capture&submit1.x=36&submit1.y=13&CurDSN=simple&calledfrom=1&incimage=on) for some ideas.

I use the Canopus ADV100 which hooks into the VCR on one side and to my mac's firewire port on the other side. It was a little pricey, but it works seamlessly with iMovie. The only problem (also a benefit) is that it imports them as DV, so the files are huge. I compress them to MPEG2 files for long-term storage.

I based my decision to get the Canopus rather than the Formac Studio on a couple of reviews, but primarily http://homepage.mac.com/metroxing/iblog/B1641024610/C1851367553/E1353080656/.

I second the Canopus. I ue the AVCD 100 and its great.

ElGata has the eye TV whihc goes straight to MPEG2, while the Canopus goes into DV. So it depends on what you want to do with it all.

Search the threads here at MacRumors, as a very detailed thread explained the options just a few days ago.
