What are the chances based on "One of those features is said to have long been on the wish-lists of many Mac users while the other is expected to cater to the semi-professional audio/video crowd.” (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/08/07/next-generation-imac-to-offer-two-compelling-new-features/)

id higley doubt it the only thing id see coming out if anything hardware related is a option to add a new superdrive wich adds blu ray suport that would be about it.

Probably not.

9/9 most likely will just be an iPod event.

Probably not.

9/9 most likely will just be an iPod event.

Or, more specifically, a music event.

Sep 9th will be the iPod and iTunes day.

There have been no computer hardware announcements at any of the previous September music themed events so I wouldn't expect anything different this year.

Back in September 2006, the iMac and Mac mini range were updated but were given a no-fuss Apple Store release the week before the event. Apple could have easily held the announcement back until their media show the following week but chose not to, keeping the event for their media players.

IF
Apple releases iTunes9 with Blu-Ray support on Sept. 9th
AND
Apple currently does not sell any computer with a Blu-Ray player
THEN
Doesn't it stand to reason that there is a possibility of an coincidental update to the iMac line (among others) to include, at the very least, a Blu-Ray option?

Desktops play second fiddle to the notebook line for spiffy/major new upgrades...

You'd likely have better chance of pleasure from punching yourself in the nuts than getting a new iMac on that date.

While the iMac occasionally to lead with the I/O chips, that is likely usually due to timing than anything else.

Edit: now that I said that, it'll show and be a waste of a good nad punch.
