Ok so I'm about to buy this display for £70 to use at uni with my 13" unibody Macbook, can anyone confirm that it will all work as expected please? (or try)

I know I will need to buy a mini-display port to DVI adapter but aren't there different types of DVI? It has VGA but I believe that it will be better quality if I use a DVI adapter?

Heres a link to the specs from Acer.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you lot!
Luke.

P.s. I would like to know ASAP, i.e. before I buy it so I won't be stuck with a monitor that won't work.

As long as it has a DVI or VGA port then it will. I have mine hooked up to a 22" Samsung monitor without any problems.

1680x1050 on 22" will be blurrier and less nice to look at than 1680x1050 on 20". Get a 20" display if you want better PQ.

Well my budget is only like £70-£80 so I can't really. I need a 22" or 24", I didn't think there would be much difference between 1920x1080 and 1680x1050.

I have a 22" at 1680x1050, and have used one at 1920x1200 (most PC monitors are 16:10, not 16:9). Whilst 1920x1200 is a nice improvement, 1680x1050 is fine. I am a computer science student, so it used for text, pictures, games etc., and I wouldn't bother going for 1920x1200.

Thanks for all the input guys!

Well I guessed that 1680x1050 is alright. I will be using it for everything really, graphics, photography and architecture + general use.

At the end of the day I can't afford a 22" 1920x1080 when I can get this for £70 from a friend.
