I'm shortly moving back to New York. I have no credit there and AT&T is now charging a $750 deposit and, moreover, I'm not even sure I'll be there for two years.
I'm thinking I'll simply get a plain 3G on ebay then unlock it.
My question is (and despite searching I can't find a definite, straight answer on this) what is the best network, plan to use and what hacks are there to use these networks. For instance to fool AT&T into thinking that I am not an iPhone etc.
Also, what do I get for these packages? In the UK it doesn't cost to receive a call; in the US it does so it's fairly confusing. What do I have to do to keep these packages going.
I'll be calling through google voice.
Anyway, I would truly appreciate links, advice etc.
