Hi guys,

I have an iPod Touch 1st generation. And the etymotics hf2 headset. Yes, the iPod Touch 1st gen doesn't even have a mic. But shouldn't the pause/play/skip button work? I don't know how this works internally, but the headset only has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Supposedly the iPhone can use that to telephone.

My button is not working on the iPod Touch 1st gen. Can't the iPod use this, or is my headset broken?

Thanks,
Bleicke

The iPod touch first gen is incompatible with anything that gives input. That would require a third ring. If you look at any headphones that don't have that remote thing/mic, they only have 2 rings on the 3.5 mm jack.

The iPod touch first gen does not have anything to pic up the third ring, unlike the second gen iPod or the iPhone.

Ok :)

I was worried my headset was broken.

Thanks!

(for anyone wondering why I bought a headset for an iPod: waiting for iPhone to be delivered!)
