Unibody MacBook RAM - 6GB+?

I have a UB MB bought late Sept 08, as far as I recall 8GB isn't possible, could I have 6, if so how would I go about achieving that?

I currently have 4GB installed by Apple

I think it does support 6GB unofficially. Just buy 4GB stick and install it

at the moment I have 2 + 2, could I do 4 + 2 or would I need to install the same in both slots?

4+2 would be the cheaper option, however you wouldn't be able to utilise dual channel memory, so it could end up being slower than 2+2. Also 4+4 would be very expensive.
