So the end of the year is looming already. This year has truly flown. With a lot of 2009s most anticipated games now pushed back to 2010 what are you looking forward to / anticipate buying in the run up to xmas ?




For me...

Wii

A Boy and his Blob. I truly can not wait for this title, and thankfully it will be available next month US and November in Europe. I truly adored the NES version.

NSMB a mario platform game on a Nintendo console. Has to be a must buy for any wii owner surely ? ;)


PS3

Uncharted 2. Looks spectacular, and whilst I would have preferred a lot more platforming in the original compared to the action/shooting, this is still very much a must buy.

Ratchet & Clank Platforming is still king in my book and I'm really looking forward to continuing on the lombax struggle :)

EyePet My camp side comes to the fore.... It just looks fun, and entertaining. Surely that's the very definition of entertainment

Yeah I'm going to wait with MW2 aswell. I usually never get games on the release date (except for GTA 4 which I just HAD to have). I usually wait a month or so and can then get them significantly cheaper on Amazon.

Yeah I'm going to wait with MW2.

likewise however not because I doubt if will be a good game (if not the biggest selling game this Xmas) but simply because I still have Cod4 MW & Cod5 WaW in my games collection and neither are played any further than 25% tops. I need to finally get round to finishing them before I buy any further Cod games.

I'm glad in a way that there isn't as much out this year as it gives me breathing room to actually finish some titles.

I'll probably pick it up at some point. Haven't really been following the game too closely and have only read a few short previews.

It's not really been hyped or marketed to such an extreme as yet, a demo on PSN or Live will probably help muster more interest.

I can see this one slipping by the majority though tbh.

^ just watched a good long preview of borderland, the takes 60 shots to kill an enemy even if your shooting them in the head - looks like it could really get annoying to me... :o I'm not convinced on how it melds FPS/RPG together, to me it's just not convincing from preview footage of either. Will wait for reviews, it seems very 'niche'.

Borderlands is also interesting me, but the heavy shooting seems odd!

But it is a RPG/FPS, so if they can balance the game properly, so it's only the uber guys that can take a spray of bullets in the head, and there's a weapon upgrade, or personal upgrade that makes my character more able to take them out quicker, then I'll probably be happy with it.

I'm adding N.G Sigma 2 to my list. I played the demo and I'm impressed with it...fast, smooth and beautiful.

October is a crazy month with DS, U2, Ratchet N Clank, Borderlands and Sigma....damn!

Other than that it's ok, but having played 25% of the way through the 360 version before boredom, I'm wondering if I'll bother. They haven't refined the area's that peeved me off in the 360 version such as camera issues.

^Actually I played the 360 version a little and I can tell from the demo the cam is little bit tighter and not getting caught up on the buildings in the demo. I was playing the demo last night and there was blood but not buckets of it like in the 360 version....They cut the gush of blood in dismemberments with purple mist but it doesn't distract from the presentation and the amount of blood in there now is good enough for me.

The movement and fights was very smooth to me and I'm impressed...I know I'll end up getting it before October ends.

I did like the team mission mode, but after playing demo I still wish they had at least an option for blood on / off. Nice it's running in 1080p too (though not sure if it's being scaled).

The Dragon Quest DS games are hella cheap over here too. Joker is £5 new, IV and V are £7-9 each. I put an order down on one site but they magically became out of stock so I cancelled them for now. Definitely going to pick them up though, I mean for around £20 I can get about a trillion hours worth of quality RPG :D.

Ordered Rock Band 2 yesterday. Late to the party I know :o. Got the whole kit though - RB2, extra guitar and band in a box. £140 in total and I'll be spending another tenner on downloadable tracks :o. And I won't get to play it till Xmas since it's a gift for my sis.

Sooooo despite the fact that I still have Uncharted 2, Borderlands, Halo ODST and Batman: AA still in the packaging, I got MW2 yesterday night.


I was at the video rental store and the deal was trade in 2 select games, get MW2 for free. Well kiss my ass they had Gears 2 and Godfather 2 on that list. So I went home, grabbed them and traded them both in. Then, I went and grabbed Gears 2 from the used shelf and bought it for $22.50. So yeah... $22.50 for MW2 :)


Now if only I can get my papers done I would have time to play :(

Saints Row 2 was £3 on Steam not so long ago. Doesn't run on my main PC but whats the rush? The remake of Monkey Island was also £3 so I snapped that up too.
Fieldrunners (PSP) is hella addictive. Kahoots was terrible. Crystal Defenders is a bit meh, especially compared to Fieldrunners. Pinball Fantasies, oh my word, played this so much on the Amiga so seeing it again on the PSP is brilliant. They're porting Pinball Dreams too! Another one of my old faves. Ah retro.

I'm really loving PSP minis. The good ones are taking over from the big games I buy.

Yup, I think the current game should have all 4 tables for $10-15. With DLC included with games, and for a price. But then it wouldn't really be an impulse buy... What tables did you get?

Just Uncharted for now. Really I'm having a massive whale of a time on the Williams pinball game. Bought it from an import shop (don't think it was released in Europe) a few months back but finally got playing it last week.
Zen looks okay (saw a review on Youtube) but I don't have a PS3.

Aw man. L4D2, GOTDecade. This is probably the best game I've ever played. Even if versus is now completely impossible to win as survivor, it's just a matter of who gets the furthest.

Well I already bought Ass Creed 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 but I haven't played them yet but from what I heard Ass Creed 2 has improved greatly from the first one so I decided to give it a second chance. I also read Left 4 Dead 2 is having some MAJOR problems on the 360 so I think I'll wait it out until they fix that.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii on Sunday.

Here are the Fall games i've already purchased...

Madden 10 (PS3) - because I'm addicted to football and a pawn in EA's game... I buy it every year :D.
Uncharted 2 (PS3) - Wow. Just wow. I think this game is even more beautiful than Killzone 2. The single player mode of this game is probably the most fun I've ever had with a single player game.

Games I'm hoping to get for Christmas...

Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii) - I never fully beat Metroid Prime 1, and I never bought 2 or 3. Might as well do it now!
God of War Collection (PS3) - I never played these two, and with God of War III coming out soon, I better beat these two games so I'll be ready for the new one!

Games I'll probably just be buying soon (hopefully used)...
Infamous (PS3) - Reviews on this game were great. I just never picked it up before. I'd like to beat this game.
Madworld (Wii) - I'm pretty curious to try this game out.
Both games above, I'm going to try and find cheap on eBay.

And for my wishlist, I'm just waiting for the exclusivity to expire on the GTA4 downloadable content. I usually sell my old games, but I've been clinging to my copy of GTA4, waiting for Gay Tony / Lost & Damned to come to PS3... Maybe Spring time....

It's on a different level fo sho but the gameplay is still there. Shame both FFTA and A2 have a fixed camera though. I think out of all the changes that's what really grinds my gears.
Oh hey and what about the lag in FFT and Lion Wars huh, HUH? :p

Don't mention that. My heart broke a little inside. It's such a shame because the translation is far superior (though the original, horrible, has it's charm) and the extra classes, widescreen format etc. The japanese version didn't suffer from it, just the NA/EU release.


Thats why I rebought it.... for the THIRD time as a PSone classic...
