This is weird. 24 hours before a Mac event and we haven't heard any rumors since late yesterday afternoon. I'm used to getting a rumor once an hour at this point. Strange.
Me too, I keep checking the MR site thinking my RSS feed can't be working right :)

I really didn't expect the aTV to be categorized as an iPod, guess it can go both way's now. An updated aTV or the ipod updated with aTV functionality.
Apple has always grouped the Apple TV with it's iPod + iTunes lineup. It's a digital media player/streamer, an extension of your current iTunes library and it's own device to download and play media on, or at least that's how they're training their employees. ;)
I just read on 9to5mac that Paul McCartney is blaming EMI for not having Beatles music available for digital downloads. So if the fingers are being pointed now, can we see something special in iTunes tomorrow?!

That Poster is BIG!!! how many ink cartridges does it take to print that up!!
My dad had one of those big priinters. I think his is 5 feet wide. The ink comes in bulk containers that you pour into a resivour. From there it moves via some small hoes to the print head.
If you don't use the printer a lot the ink dries up inside the plumbing and you have a mess although unlike cheap home inkjets the bigger ones are made so they can be disassembled and the parts cleaned or replaced.

We are going to see the Beatles game added to the AppStore and that game may allow you to download and play their music.
The game is likely coming to the iPhone, if you look at all the activity going on, that is what it is pointing to.

Despite all the naysayers, my hunch is yes. The device would after all be a close relative of the iPod Touch. Maybe they will consider the tablet part of the iPod line?
Sweet...I think it would make sense to have it apart of the iTunes/iPod family. They technically count the ATV as apart of that family and this "tablet" seems like a cross between an ATV and iPod Touch/iPhone.
That's at least exciting to think about, the iPod stuff just seems to expected. Though I really wish I had a camera on mine.

What about The Beatles on iTunes? It's often that Apple does this kind of events on tuesdays, however, they are doing this one tomorrow on 'Beatles Day' 9/9/09.

Was I the only one who read the headline and thought they had a production problem with the banner? I was thinking, "Oh, maybe they made the banner too big or small and it's not covering the front of the building properly..."

To iPod classic lovers:
It's not going away Wednesday. If it was, then why would there be one in this picture
Lol that's a Touch, you can tell because the cord is at the bottom right, she's not holding a classic upside down. :D

Are you referring to The Beatles Rock Band game ? If so can you explain how that would work on a 3.5 in. display ?

The media events are for the press only. It's not Macworld. Unless you're a select member of the press or an Apple employee, you're not going to have to worry about going to an Apple media event. Heh.
Ahhhh...then I take back my remarks. :) I thought this was an event for the public to come in and hear all the yip yap.

There is no reason the universal dock for the Touch could not have HD video output and support the standard remote control, The only difference would then be the smaller hard drive and slower network speeds.
You're just repeating what I had already said and in my opinion these statements don't support your claim that:
If Apple wants to hold on to the aTV we can safely assume that they won't ad these features to the dock, the Touch and aTV can't be competing products.
For a cost quite close to a redesigned HD-video-enabled iPod touch you get the following advantages with the Apple TV:
1.) HDMI video output.
2.) Multi-channel, digital optical audio output.
3.) Five to ten times the amount of media storage capacity.
4.) Wire ethernet networking.
5.) 802.11n wireless which can be several times faster than the 802.11g on the iPod touch. The Apple TV also offers 5GHz operation which can be a great aid under RF-noisy environments.
6.) Purpose-built GUI/operation for interfacing to a wide-screen, HD TV.
Give the above, I think there is plenty of product space for both an HD-enabled iPod touch and the existing Apple TV. Further, since the iPhone 3GS appears to be HD ready it seems perfectly reasonable to expect the new iPod touch to gain that capability. The only real question is whether Apple will (or can, technically) enable HD output over the existing component video outputs of the iPhone/iPod touch. As I said in my original post, I suspect that they will enable such output for no other reason than to upstage the Zune HD (which isn't scheduled to be released until next week).

The way it fits in a PSP but with a much better processor. It also runs on the Wii which is a very weak system Graphic and CPU wise.

don't kill the classic, Apple! I love the space and hate the limited hard drive space in the touch!

Pretty sure both the PSP and Wii are more capable than an iPhone.

LOL. It's been a while since I've heard that. That's cheered my morning up, thanks :)
Glad someone got a kick out of it!
Which makes it even more of a shame that Apple have been incrementally reducing the quality of the output stage on their iPods over the past few iterations. I still haven't heard an iPod that beats my iPod 5g which is coming up to 4 years old now.
The one thing I'm really hoping for in the new iPod lineup is a return to the inclusion of a respectable analogue stage.
Please forgive my lack of knowledge about electronics, but what is an output/analogue stage? I'm genuinely interested because sound quality is important to me. How would one find out what kind of output/analog stage an iPod has and whether it is of decent quality?

I realize that but they both connect to a big screen. I wanna know how to play it on a 3.5 in. screen instead of a 42" one.

The iPhone 3GS is more capable than the PSP. The iPhone 3GS processor is better than the Wii's.
