I have already created my .Mac account and would like to change my email address. Is this possible?

From .Mac Help, under "Creating or renewing your membership":

"You cannot change your member name after your account is established."

Of course, you could always change at the end of the year by not renewing your account and getting another one.

Or you could probably call Apple Support with a good story about why your current name isn't going to work (recent divorce, whatever), and they might be able to help you - just be appreciative of their help, but firm.

You can create an alias which will point to your current .Mac address. To do this follow these steps:

1. Go to http://webmail.mac.com and login
2. Click Preferences
3. Under email alias, click add.
4. Type in the first part of the email address you would like. (example: if you want, cool@mac.com, you would type cool.
5. Choose a color that messages sent to the alias address will appear in the webmail inbox.
6. Click Create alias.

You are now set, now people can send you email messages using the .Mac address and the newly created alias. I like this feature a lot, since it is like having a couple email addresses.

Thanks for the tip, blasto333! That's a great feature, and I'd not seen it yet. Far better than crying to Apple Support!

I had forgotten about how you can create aliases. Thank you, I may have to set one up. :)
