iPhone 3G 16G - Earbuds "clicker" stops working after 3.1 update

I've got iPhone 3G 16G that the earbuds "clicker" has stopped working after getting the 3.1 update.

It no longer responds when listening to music or for answering incoming calls.

Anyone else experience this issue.
