Cases/screen protectors for Touch 3rd gen?

So I ordered the new 32gb iPod Touch today. Yeah totally disappointed about the camera thing, but anyway...

As far as dimensions go, is the 3rd gen exactly the same as the 2nd gen? Can I use cases/screen protectors intended for the 2G on the 3G (and by 3G I mean 3rd gen - not "3G")?
